Welcome!
Each Spring, the School of Film offers a course in Portfolio and Professional Development which prepares graduating film production students for the job search.
The experience culminates in a portfolio show where students present their work and themselves as emerging professionals to the school community, alumni, peers, friends, family, and to established media professionals.
We hope you enjoy this year's online edition of the show.
Every year the School of Film gives awards for the best film essay or essays submitted for consideration. The judges are PSU film faculty and any paper written in a film class during the year is eligible. This year we recognized one film analysis essay, which is accompanied by a video essay.
School of Film faculty select a set of student-produced work to showcase each year. Selections this year were curated from projects made in film production classes since Spring 2020.
Distinctions are awarded to the best film in each of the following genres: Fiction, Documentary, and Experimental.
In Fall 2022, our Branded Media class partnered with the advocacy organization Friends of Family Farmers and the non-profit Wild Diversity in the making of a series of student-produced branded videos. Students managed all parts of the production process from idea development and pitching the client to shooting, editing, and delivery of the finished product.
